Electro’liv 12V Electric Olive Harvester

Hand-held olive rake from INFACO – Increase your harvesting efficiency threefold, without damaging your trees.

The Electro’liv 12V is a powerful, hand-held electric olive harvester by INFACO, designed to significantly increase your harvesting efficiency — up to three times faster than traditional hand-picking — while preserving tree health.  Electro'liv harvester can ensure not to damage the tree i.e. new growth and sprigs remain intact whilst the fruit is removed.

An advantage of this machine is it can be used on young olive trees when the bark is still relatively soft through to maturity and also ensures that the tree is able to put its energy into the next production instead of stressing, as it repairs itself from harvesting damage.

This model connects easily to a standard 12V power source, such as a car battery, via the 15m extension cable supplied. A battery-pack version is also available for even greater portability.

A Vital Tool for Quality Olive Oil Production

A key factor in making Extra Virgin olive oil, is getting your fruit from the tree to the processor in under 4 hours. The Electro'liv harvester enables you to do this by helping you to remove fruit in a timely and cost effective manner. Because no air compressor is required, pollutants and noise are minimised. You can comfortably operate the machine and talk to others nearby. Minimal maintenance is required (although cleaning of the parts is recommended) and there are no ongoing fuel costs.

Why Choose the Electro’liv 12V?

✅ PORTABLE & PRACTICAL - Comes with a 15m cable to connect to your own 12V battery. No air compressor or fuel is needed, meaning low noise, low pollution, and low operating costs.

✅ POWERFUL - Thanks to its robust motor and balancing system, the Electro’liv removes 100% of ripe and green fruit efficiently, while reducing vibration for the user.

✅ GENTLE ON TREES - The elliptical vibration of the carbon fibre tines gently removes fruit while protecting new shoots and young bark — ideal for both young and mature trees.

✅ ADAPTABLE - Choose between a fixed 2.2m pole or a telescopic 1.5–2.6m pole.
The rake head can be adjusted into six different working positions, and variable speed allows for fine-tuning based on tree size and fruit maturity.

✅ INNOVATIVE DESIGN - The unique elliptical movement of the tines ensures broader coverage, vibrating multiple branches with each pass. If the head becomes tangled, the machine automatically cuts power to protect both tool and tree.

Operating the Electro’liv 12V Electric Olive Harvester

The Electro’liv 12V is designed for ease of use, even during long harvest days. Here’s how it works in practice:

1. Power Connection
  • Connect the unit to a 12V power source, such as a car battery, using the included 15-metre extension cable. Ensure the connection is secure before operation.
  • (Optional battery-pack version available for cordless use.)

2. Setup & Adjustment
  • Choose between the fixed or telescopic pole, depending on your grove layout.
  • Adjust the rake head into one of six working angles to suit branch height and fruit density.

Set the variable speed control to match the age and structure of the tree: slower speeds for young or soft-barked trees, faster for more established branches.

3. Harvesting Technique
  • Position the rake beneath the branch where olives naturally hang.
  • Move the comb down the length of the branch in a gentle, combing motion.
  • The elliptical motion of the tines agitates the fruit, encouraging it to fall naturally into nets or a catching frame placed below.
  • The tines are designed to be gentle on shoots and bark, reducing the stress typically caused by harsher harvesting methods.

4. Safety & Comfort Features
  • The machine is lightweight and well-balanced, reducing fatigue during extended use.
  • A balancing system minimises vibration, making operation smoother and more comfortable.
  • If the rake becomes tangled in branches, the auto-stop function momentarily cuts power, allowing you to safely untangle the tool.

5. Post-Use Care
  • After use, wipe down the tool and clean the tines to remove debris.
  • Check connectors and cables for wear.
  • Store in a dry area away from dust and moisture.
In short: Simply plug in, adjust, and start harvesting — it’s that easy. The Electro’liv makes the process efficient, comfortable, and gentle on your trees.

The Physics of “Olive Fruit Retention Force” (FRF) | Detatchment Index

Learn how olive fruit retention force (FRF) and detachment index (DI) guide ripening, harvest timing, and mechanical efficiency while reducing fruit loss. Fruit retention (or detachment/removal) force is the tensile force needed to separate an olive from its pedicel at the abscission zone (AZ). It’s typically reported in newtons (N) or grams-force (gf) i.e. 1 N ≈ 102 gf. Most gauges measure a direct pull, but torsion and bending also matter in..

Harvest Wrap-up: Australian Olive Growers Face Lower Yields After Unseasonal Weather

Unpredictable weather has challenged Australia’s 2023 olive harvest. Extended cold and wet periods across key growing regions shortened ripening cycles and reduced yields, according to the Australian Olive Oil Association. Despite smaller volumes, oil quality remains exceptional, with producers adapting to global shortages and shifting export opportunities.
