Waste Pumps and Pomace Extraction Machines

Reliable waste pumps and pomace extraction systems designed for efficient olive oil production. Engineered for smooth waste handling, sustainability, and clean processing.

Waste Pumps and Pomace Extraction

The final stage of the process deals with by-products...  the olive pomace (solid waste) and residual water. Waste pumps and pomace handling systems are vital for removing these materials swiftly from the mill, maintaining a clean operation and allowing continuous production. Typically, a heavy-duty pomace pump (such as a piston or screw pump) transfers the discharged pomace from the decanter to a storage silo or collection area.  These pumps are designed to handle the high solids content and viscosity of olive pomace without clogging, featuring hardened components to minimise wear. Efficient pomace removal prevents backups and preserves hygiene in the mill, as the waste is contained and conveyed away. In addition, pomace extraction equipment can be employed to recover additional oil from the pomace, significantly boosting overall yield. Advanced systems allow a second extraction phase on the pomace - in some cases recovering up to 50% of the remaining oil through mechanical means.  Finally, integrated waste water pumps handle the olive mill wastewater (“black water”), channeling it to treatment or storage with equal emphasis on reliability and cleanliness. By using specialised waste pumps and pomace extraction technology, olive oil producers ensure that every drop of oil is captured and all by-products are managed efficiently and in an environmentally responsible manner.
