Bird Scare Gas Gun - Timer model
Made in Australia
  • Includes tripod, electronic controller and programmable timer.

Electronic Control
  • The Vinetech unit is under full electronic control, powered by two 6 volt batteries enclosed in the weather-proof electronics box
  • The elimination of moving parts has resulted in a low maintenance control unit
  • The unit operates only during the hours when the birds are active

Variable random firing
  • To prevent birds becoming accustomed to regular timed shots, the Vinetech fires groups of shots at random intervals
  • Can be adjusted to fire from 4 to 70 shots per hour
  • Groups of 1-3 shots or random mixture of the same

Programmable timer
  • The Vinetech is available with or without the timer
  • The unit without the timer is controlled by a light sensor.

Greater Sound distribution
  • The Vinetech gun is mounted on a 2m high tripod
  • Turns with each shot to fire over a 360 degree arc so the noise distribution is maximised

Integrated design
  • The Vientech gun is designed for use with a 9Kg gas bottle, suspended from the centre of the tripod which stabilises the whole unit
  • The new tripod is foldable and does not have to be removed for easy relocation
  • The legs are adjustable for height

Local council compliant
  • Because of the large selection of shot options available and the adjustable gas regulator, shots per hour and decibel levels can be selected to comply with most council directives

Reliability
  • AS each gun is individually hand-made, powder coated and tested for eight hours prior to packing, we enjoy a good reputation for reliability
  • The same electronics and design are used in guns we manufacture for long line tuna fishing boats, these are permanently mounted on the superstructure of boats and are constantly exposed to salt water and extreme weather conditions
  • They perform reliably with little maintenance

Guardian Gas Gun vs Vinetech Electronic Bird Scare Gun

Agricultural Bird Control

Guardian Gas Gun vs Vinetech Electronic Bird Scare Gun: Key Differences and Performance Comparison

Birds can cause significant crop losses by damaging or removing fruit well before harvest takes place. For vineyards, orchards, and other agricultural operations, early bird pressure can reduce yield and affect fruit quality. While no single bird deterrent is guaranteed to eliminate bird activity, the Guardian Gas Gun and the Vinetech Electronic Bird Scare Gun are widely regarded as two of the more effective tools available to growers. Each system offers different approaches to bird control, with variations in operation, control features, running costs, and suitability for different environments. This comparison outlines those key differences to help producers better understand their options and select the most appropriate solution for their situation.

Guardian Gas Gun

The Guardian Gas Gun is a mechanically operated LPG bird scarer designed to produce controlled single-shot explosions that deter birds, kangaroos, and other nuisance animals from agricultural areas. Activation is managed via a reliable piezo-electric ignition system, while the remaining components are fully mechanical, ensuring consistent performance with minimal maintenance requirements.

Explosion intervals can be adjusted from once per minute up to once every 30 minutes, allowing growers to tailor operations to specific crop protection needs. Sound output is controlled through a telescopic cannon, providing an adjustable noise range between 80 and 120 decibels. Depending on crop type and terrain, the Guardian Gas Gun offers effective coverage across approximately 3 to 4 hectares.

Constructed with a zinc-plated finish, the unit is built to withstand harsh outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to weather. The tripod-mounted version features a 90-degree rotating blast mechanism to enhance sound dispersion. Vinetech Bird Scare Electronic Gas Gun

The Vinetech Bird Scare Electronic Gun is a fully electronic bird deterrent system powered by two 6-volt batteries housed within a weather-proof control unit. With no moving mechanical components, the system delivers reliable performance with minimal maintenance requirements, making it well-suited to long-term agricultural use.

The unit operates by firing grouped shots at randomised intervals, with adjustable settings allowing between 4 and 70 shots per hour. Users can select single, double, triple, or mixed shot sequences to reduce bird habituation. A programmable timer ensures the unit operates only during periods of peak bird activity, improving efficiency while minimising unnecessary noise.

Mounted on a two-metre-high tripod, the Vinetech rotates with each discharge to provide full 360-degree sound coverage, maximising deterrent effectiveness across the protected area. The integrated design allows a 9 kg gas bottle to be suspended centrally from the tripod, enhancing stability during operation. A foldable tripod with adjustable legs enables easy transport and repositioning across different locations.

Adjustable firing options and a regulated gas system allow the Vinetech Bird Scare Electronic Gun to be configured in line with most local council noise requirements. Designed and manufactured in Australia, the system reflects local engineering standards and suitability for Australian growing conditions.

Comparison Summary: Guardian Gas Gun vs Vinetech Electronic Bird Scare Gun

  • Operation: The Guardian Gas Gun operates using a predominantly mechanical system activated by a piezo-electric trigger, whereas the Vinetech Bird Scare Gun is fully electronic, eliminating most moving parts and reducing ongoing maintenance.
  • Shot Control: The Guardian delivers single-shot blasts at adjustable time intervals, while the Vinetech allows for randomised shot groupings with flexible control over firing frequency and sequence options.
  • Sound Distribution: Mounted on a two-metre rotating tripod, the Vinetech provides full 360-degree sound dispersion to maximise area coverage, compared to the Guardian’s fixed blast direction design.
  • Customisation and Compliance: Both systems can be configured to meet local noise regulations; however, Vinetech offers finer control over shot timing and grouping, making it better suited to environments with stricter compliance requirements.
In summary, both gas guns provide effective bird deterrence for agricultural applications. The Vinetech Bird Scare Electronic Gun delivers advanced electronic control, randomised firing patterns, and full sound dispersion, making it well-suited to users seeking a highly automated and customisable deterrent system. By comparison, the Guardian Gas Gun features a robust mechanical design that offers dependable performance and straightforward operation, appealing to growers who prefer a simple, manually controlled solution.
